Chris and I met and found we shared much in common – a love for the natural world and it’s creative inspiration. Being so involved with my own passion, I encouraged Chris to pursue a hobby, and he purchased a lathe and began wood turning. After several classes at Brookfield Craft Center and realizing his own passion, he has set up a complete wood turning studio in our backyard shed. His classic and simple forms reflect his admiration for the intrinsic beauty of exotic woods and the shapes they inspire.

Realizing that our crafts reflect the natural relationship of Earth and Wood, we have begun to combine our creations into unique boxes. Chris’s elegant turnings become the lower portion, and I add lids decorated with wild flowers, insects, or animals. With the success of our combinations, we continue to explore the possibilities of working together creatively.
